Our back to school night provides a broad overview of third grade. Here you can find more specific information and answers to your questions specifically pertaining to Mrs. Drabinski's class.
Communication Open and frequent communication is very important to me. Please never hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I am often busy running my kids around to their various activities in the afternoons. I really do prefer to have parents send me text messages rather than emails. It is much easier for me to respond to you in a timely manner. Mrs. D's phone #- 619-992-9374
Most of the information, conference sign ups and party information that I send out to the class will be through Class Messenger. If you have not already been added, please see the instructions on how to sign up in the PDF attached below:
Homework Research has shown that homework in the elementary school grades does not positively impact academic achievement levels. It is important, however, that your child start to establish good routines and study habits now, so they are in place when homework becomes a requirement in the later grades. For these reasons I suggest:
Find a consistent time and place for your child to read quietly for at least 20 minutes.
Help your child go through her schoolwork and help her establish systems to stay organized.
Ask your child questions about what we are learning in class. Please don't settle for, "Nothing" or "I don't Know".
Limit screen time!
Involve your child in chores and work around the house.
Ipads Student iPads will only be sent home if we are working on a special project or if your child has a special circumstance that requires the use of an iPad at home. All of our district curriculum can be accessed through a home computer if you would like your child to work on these programs during out-of-school hours.
